My emphasis is on plant diversity in the garden – that is what I love about garden design. The challenge is that there are so many different plants and often limited space. It’s important to plant according to place and surrounding architecture. I have a unique perspective because of my extensive work experience at the San Francisco Botanic Garden where I became knowledgable about an abundance of plants from around the world. During my travels, and garden touring, I have experienced many different kinds of gardens designed by exceptionally creative people. Always, my most valuable inspiration for garden design is nature.
